I am a graduate student in the Department of Linguistics at Northwestern University.  I am primarily interested in sentence processing, and more particularly in issues related to the construction and processing of long distance dependencies. Some specific areas of interest for me include:

  • pronoun resolution
  • processing of ellipsis
  • adjunct/argument asymmetries
  • memory retrieval mechanisms

I am passionate about language education and accessibility. I believe that the field of Linguistics provides valuable tools for the language learner and user, and that language is learned best when rooted in a communicative context.

I am also an amateur pool player, a baker, the laziest of gardeners, a lover of science fiction and Bob Dylan (in equal measure – fan fiction here I come), and an all around pretty happy human.
